Asphalt Worker

Job Summary

Local Construction Company seeking to hire Experienced Asphalt Workers in the St. John's area for the remainder of the 2026 construction season. This is a full-time seasonal position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate heavy equipment such as skid steer loaders, pavers and rollers.
• Asphalt Raking
• Maintaining Safety Culture in the Workplace

3-5 years experience required.

50-60 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm

Must have own transportation to work

Rate of pay dependent on experience $25-$27 per hour

Duties

• Operate heavy equipment such as rollers and pavers to prepare and lay asphalt surfaces efficiently.
• Rake and spread asphalt after it leaves the spreader to prepare for rolling
• Shovel excess asphalt and sweep up debris
• Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
• Assist with site cleanup and material handling to keep the work area organized and safe.

Experience

• Prior construction experience, especially in paving or roadwork projects, is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to operate heavy machinery safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of asphalt materials, paving techniques, and construction site safety practices.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team in outdoor conditions.
• Strong work ethic with a focus on quality workmanship and safety compliance.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45.0 – 50.0 per week
